It was an early start to a very long day. The alarm went off at 4 am and I was at the airport to meet the kids a 5:30 am for a 7:30 am departure to Washington D.C. I have to admit I was a bit nervous getting 20 students through security, but it was no problem.
We arrived in Baltimore at 11:30 am and our first thing on the itinerary was lunch at Golden Corral and then off to D.C. and the National Cathedral, Embassy Row, the VP's house, The National Zoo, National Aerospace Museum, the Mall, dinner at Harriet's, FDR Memorial, The Washington Monument, and The WWII Memorial. The day concluded with our group arriving at the hotel after getting lost, at 10:45 pm.
Here we are at the National Zoo and we got to catch a glimpse of a Panda Bear.
The National Cathedral is in the background. We were unable to stop and take a tour. They said that security has been heightened.
This is Elmo with the Spirit of St. Louis.
Elmo sitting on top of a rolls royce engine that use to power the RAF Spitfire in the background.
This one of the engines from the Saturn V rocket.
Elmo and the lunar lander, one small step for monsters, and on giant leap for monsterkind!
The Mall, with the Capitol as a backdrop!
Elmo and FDR.
What a view, Elmo looking out from the Washington Monument!
